Short answer

The essentials first

Set a clear goal, structure the day in distinct blocks, and use changes of scenery between meetings, meals and activities. Plan the breaks as carefully as the presentations.

Start with why you are gathering

A kick-off is better when its purpose can be stated in a single sentence. Is the group meant to make decisions, get to know each other, start a project or recharge? The purpose determines how much time should be dedicated to work, activities and socialising.

Choose a maximum of two main goals. An overloaded programme makes it difficult to be present and rarely leaves room for the conversations that often create the most value.

Structure the programme in three distinct parts

Allow for a calm and practical arrival. Continue with the day's most important work block while energy levels are high. After lunch, movement, group exercises or a change of scenery can help participants think in new ways.

Conclude with a communal dinner and a brief summary. At Görväln Naturreservat, social rooms, the dining room, kitchen and wellness areas can be used as different parts of the same event.

  • Arrival and shared direction
  • Focused work session
  • Lunch and breathing space in the programme
  • Activity or wellness
  • Dinner and summary

Plan the meal as part of the content

Dinner is not just logistics. It is often the place where job titles are dropped and new conversations begin. Decide whether you need catering, a private chef or a simpler arrangement based on the day's purpose and the group's rhythm.

Services such as private chef, catering and event planning are optional, quoted separately and subject to availability.

If participants need to stay overnight

Overnight accommodation can be an add-on when the kick-off is actually held at the venue. It can provide a calmer conclusion and make it possible to continue with breakfast or a short session the next morning.

Overnight accommodation is never booked separately. Therefore, always state the event's type, purpose, date and format in your enquiry.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

How long should a kick-off programme be?

Start with the purpose. A full day is suitable when you are combining focused work, an activity and dinner, while a shorter format might be better for a single, clear goal.

Can the kick-off be combined with overnight accommodation?

Yes, for participants of a booked event. Overnight accommodation is an add-on to the kick-off and cannot be booked separately.

Can we get help with the food?

Private chef and catering can be requested as optional add-ons, quoted separately and subject to availability.
